Mackenzie Valley Environmental Impact Review Board

The Mackenzie Environmental Impact Review Board (MEIRB) is set up to do environmental assessments and impact reviews throughout the Mackenzie Valley. It looks at developments and determines whether they will harm the environment or cause public concern. The MEIRB decides what terms or conditions it should put on the development to lessen those impacts or concerns. The GCLCA guarantees Gwich'in representation on the Board.
